Welcome to my journey towards a life of sun!

I just traded the rainy streets of London for the sun-kissed shores of Bali. Why, you may ask? Well, let’s just say that the 9-to-5 grind wasn’t exactly my cup of tea.

I now get to work from anywhere in the world, as long as I have my laptop and a decent internet connection. And what better place to start than Bali? Palm trees, beaches, smoothie bowls – Instagram doesn’t always lie! (Though there is definitely a whole lot of behind the scenes reality going on.)

Of course it’s not all sun and games! Moving here without a job lined up, I have to make sure to put in the work to build up my business and not get too distracted by all the surf lessons and sunset cocktails. It’s a balancing act, but I’m learning to find my groove.

I’ve decided to document my journey from my initial decision to leave London to setting up in Bali, and wherever chasing sunsets will take me – both as a journal for myself to look back at, but also to hopefully inspire other to take the plunge and maybe make that decision a little less daunting.

So there you have it, a little glimpse into my life as a digital nomad in Bali. It’s not for everyone, but for me, it’s the perfect mix of adventure, work, and sunshine. And who knows where the next destination will be? Maybe I’ll finally master the art of surfing, or maybe I’ll end up in a completely different corner of the globe. One thing’s for sure – the world is my oyster, and I’m ready to explore.

Hey there, I’m Sara Jo! Born and raised in Germany, I used to call London my home – that is, before I decided to escape the cold and swap the grey 9-5 for a life on the beach.
